Fugu- Blow fish that the Japanese love to eat raw. However, it has a little bladder full of deadly toxin that if prepared wrong can kill you. A couple people die each year in Japan eating fugu.
Gaijin- Literally, foriegn devil. means anyone not Japanese.
Gomennassai: Please excuse me, sorry!
Kaniji- a complicated alphabet borrowed from the Chinese. It has about 1800 characters but can be combined with their other two alphabets (hiragana and katakana) to make more words.
Obaasan- grandmother or older woman. Wonderful and scary at the same time.
Salaryman: A man who will work his entire life for one company. They work all day and then are expected to spend several hours at a bar with co-workers to maintain moral at work. They are often drunk in public. You should feel sorry for him even though he probably spent the whole night having his beer poured by a tasty looking bar hostess because the wife controls the finances of the family in Japan and he only has a small allowance to show for his work (and to keep him out of trouble with that bar hostess).
